Asosiasi Penambang Rakyat Indonesia atau disingkat APRI,

adalah wadahnya Penambang Rakyat Indonesia. Terbentuk 24-08-2014 di Kaliurang, Yogyakarta oleh penambang dari 19 Provinsi.

APRI adalah langkah awal penambang rakyat Indonesia secara nasional bersatu untuk memperjuangkan akses pengelolaan tambang di negara Indonesia tercinta.

Saat ini APRI telah memiliki 34 Dewan Pimpinan Wilayah (DPW); 300 Dewan Pimpinan Cabang (DPC); dan lebih dari 600 Responsible Mining Community (RMC).

APRI berkomitmen untuk membangun tambang rakyat yang bertanggungjawab (responsible mining), yaitu legal, aman, ramah lingkungan, dan berkelanjutan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan rakyat, terutama masyarakat lokal.

APRI akan terus berupaya agar kontribusi tambang rakyat di bidang ekonomi dan energi menjadi nyata, dirasakan langsung oleh sedikitnya 30 juta rakyat Indonesia.

Tambang Rakyat adalah lapangan kerja untuk tidak kurang dari 4 juta penambang. Bekerja di tambang rakyat sebagian besar tidak memerlukan syarat pendidikan apapun, sehingga semua pengangguran bisa terserap. Penambang rakyat ini memiliki tanggungan keluarga rata-rata 3 orang, (yaitu 2 anak + 1 istri). Jadi kegiatan tambang rakyat secara langsung merupakan sandaran hidup tidak kurang dari 15 juta rakyat Indonesia.

Sedangkan 15 juta rakyat Indonesia lainnya mendapatkan manfaat tidak langsung dari kegiatan tambang rakyat, misalnya perbengkelan, tukang las, pedagang sembako, pedagang makanan, toko bangunan, tukang kayu, tukang bangunan, penjual alat-alat pengolahan, pedagang berbagai keperluan bahan untuk pengolahan tambang, alat trasnportasi, dan masih banyak lainnya.

Jadi dampak langsung dan tidak langsung dari kegiatan tambang rakyat ini mempengaruhi tidak kurang dari 30 juta rakyat Indonesia.

Tambang Rakyat membangun Indonesia dari pinggiran dan dari pelosok negeri.

Keseluruhan omzet tambang rakyat tidak kurang dari Rp 200 Triliun. Formalisasi tambang rakyat berpotensi meningkatkan pendapatan pemerintah Rp 15-25 Triliun/tahun.

Jutaan penambang rakyat adalah kekuatan besar untuk memperbaiki lahan terlantar dan areal bekas tambang yang dibiarkan terbengkalai oleh pengusaha-pengusaha yang tidak bertanggungjawab.
